Are You Ready to Bee Creative?

Calling all ‘buzzing’ artists! We want you to embrace your inner worker bee and help us get creative. Whether it’s knitting, painting, crafting or sewing, we need your bee-autiful designs to help promote and fund the work of Mikeysline.

This task comes in two parts:

    1. When creating your designs we ask that you remember our bumblebee logo – a symbol of the work and commitment of Mikeysline wherever our campaign may take us – and use it to inspire your art
    2. The best designs come from having fun with your craft and letting your inner creativity buzz through you. Therefore, we encourage you to get playful with your creations and enjoy what you make

We also ask that you make us aware of any additional material that has been used within your design to ensure the item is compliant with UKCA rules. You can do this by adding a note when you send your final design, indicating the materials used.

In the past, we’ve been bee-dazzled by the variety, skill and craftsmanship of your designs, which have brought us quirky and clever bees of all shapes and sizes, from tiny bees on keyrings to large, cuddly bumblebee plushies. We then take these creations and put them on display. You’ll find them on information and fundraising stalls, where we’ll then sell our bumblebee designs to help support the ongoing work that we do.

You might even find some of the artwork on display across our Hives, reminding those who are struggling with their mental health that they are not alone and that our community is behind them!

Please note that we are not able to pay for any submissions, however, we hope you’ll get to experience the benefits of creativity on your own mental health. Art is often used in therapy, helping those who might struggle to find the right words to say to instead express their feelings through painting, crafting or drawing.

Furthermore, the sense of accomplishment, self-esteem and productivity that comes from a job well done can be an incredible stress reliever and positivity booster. In fact, people who spend at least 30 minutes or more each day getting creative are said to report lower levels of depression and anxiety.

Check out the image below for further inspiration and when you’re ready to send your work, all you have to do is post it to us at:

Remember to include your name and contact details to ensure you get the thanks you deserve!
