The Highland’s first out of hours mental health crisis centre

The Hive Inverness, or The Hive Project as it was originally known, was the Highland’s first out of hours mental health crisis centre and is now based at 4 Strothers Lane, Inverness IV1 1LR. Today, we provide a safe place to those who are in need of it and offer face to face support aimed at reducing social isolation, supporting people to maintain their mental wellbeing, supporting people with their mental health or emotional issues and for those in crisis. We also have outreach Hives in the Easter Ross area in Tain and Alness as well as in Nairn and Thurso. We hope to extend this service with the opening of a new Hive in Elgin in the summer of 2024. 

Our Hives

We provide free, impartial, confidential and non-judgemental support for anyone to attend on their own, or accompanied if preferred on initial visits. Our staff and volunteer support workers are there to listen, support, guide, advocate where needed, signpost where appropriate and use their knowledge and skills to support you as best they can, including coping strategies for the future.

Often just talking through issues with someone you can trust can help gain perspective. Sometimes you will need our staff and volunteers to not only listen but also to support and guide you. What we can promise is we will try and help you with whatever issue you wish to discuss and tailor our support to your individual needs. As such, our support is always person centred.
